Day 7 Talisker Distillery (Tue)

Exact details are fading from my mind as its a couple of week ago now. Perhaps you others hat were there can remind me?

I assume it was breakfast at home on the cottage.

This was the morning that S booked the whiskey tour, the boat trip for Wednesday and Golf for wednesday.

A & S went on the bikes to go round the loop opposite the cottage. All going great, nice weather feeling fitter already after a couple of training rides. Then at the end of the loop where we were supposed to freewheel down the main road back to home we came across a herd of cows/bulls that seemed to have free range on the road. No way through for 2 cyclists and n local traffic to move them out of the way. Common sense won the day and we turned around and went back the way we had come.

This was good as on the way back we spotted an otter making its way along the shore line. Also I spotted the local football pitch.

In the afternoon A2 set off walking towards the Tallisker brewery on the road. He was picked up and we found the distillery easily. S and A2 went on the tour and enjoyed the after tour tasting session. The tour guid was a jolly fellow with a red face. The whisky tasted fine. A and E had been watching helicopters come and go with special visitord to the distillery. A purchased a barrel (empty) and A2 purchased some taster bottles.

After tour we found our way to the local pub which was highly recommended for beer and food. Sadly the food was the worst we found on the whole holiday. A had the "last" steak in the pub and it was a mis"stake". The rest of us had a very battery fish with extra batter. With hindsight we should have had a beer here and gone anywhere else to eat.

Cant remember the evening?
