Day 6 Dunvegan Castle (Mon)

Todays mission was to visit Dunvegan Castle and perhaps go for  a boat trip to see seals.

The boat trips had stopped running the week before. But the castle was interesting enough to wander round and look out of the windows at the views.

The dungeon left a lasting impression on me....

After wandering round the castle we had a good look round the gradens. Lots of good photo opportunities here. The weather was good and we took our time including a walk round to get a good view of the castle from the front.

A soup in the Cafe was welcome afterwards.

On the way back we called in at Dunvegan for supplies for the nights food at the Cottage. (Cottage Pie).

S+A2 went to ask locals if they knew the simple route up the local mountains. Locals asked were not helpful.

We decided to drive to the start of a route up the mountain and ended up at the Red Roof Cafe for Cofffe and Scones. (NOTE to return here if ever here again). Never found start of mountain path.. Hey Ho. Also Red Roof Cafe well off the beten track.

On return to cottage S+A2 went on short bike ride A2 had not ridden a bike in several years so it was "interesting" but fun. A couple of chain off situations later and we were both safely back in nice warm cottage.

During evening we were treated to some good home cooked food thanks to A.
